Conker Maths

Date: 4th Oct 2017 @ 8:42pm

Today one of the children brought us a mysterious bag. We passed it around and tried to guess what was in it! Then when we had worked that out we passed it around to guess how many were in it! Lots of the children said a hundred million because it was so heavy! We counted them out - there were 123! Everyone said it must have taken a long time to collect them. We wondered if there was enough for us to have 3 each and then we played a game of guess how many are hidden using our three conkers with our partners. On the investigating table we used the scales to find out how many conkers weighed the same as a large pine cone. What a lot of maths!
